As such, Zerion Software is proud to announce our participation in the Covid Credentials Initiative. This global, cross-sector community of organizations committing to finding ways to use digital identities as a way to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 while rebooting public trust.
“As the world gets back to work, many businesses will need to have the right data to protect their employees,” explains our CEO, Sze Wong.
The CCI is a collaboration of over 60 organizations determined to deploy verifiable credential solutions to stop the spread of COVID-19. While society may look different going forward, the goal of CCI is to help it return to normal using technology to make the process controlled and measurable while preserving privacy and the rights of citizens.
This is in direct response to global calls for an “immunity passport” of sorts (a digital certificate) that helps individuals both prove and request proof that they’ve recovered from COVID-19 after testing negative, have tested positive for antibodies, or – once a vaccine becomes available – have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
The initiative depends on the W3C standard, Verifiable Credentials, as a blueprint for moving forward. Because technology requirements and standards are still being established, this effort requires the cooperation of numerous organizations; it requires collaboration, something that our team believes in wholeheartedly.
We are excited to see what this initiative brings to the table, and to play a role as it develops.
