We received the Socket CHS 7X yesterday and were all excited to get started testing the new Bluetooth scanner and scanning bar codes into some exZact forms. The device was smaller than expected and felt good in the hand. Step 1, power up the scanner… step 2 turn on the device then hold the Trigger button and power button to enter pairing mode. Step 3, start scanning… oops the iPad did not recognize the scanner out of the box. I looked thru the documentation and found no iPad reference, but after a few Google searches I found the document… Scanned the “magical” bar code, Turned on Bluetooth from the iPad Setting screen and presto… untethered bar code scanning.
We are very excited about the opportunities to offer Bluetooth 1D and 2D bar coding for our clients. We will continue to look at ways to enhance the platform, but this is a big step to help with data accuracy and limiting data input. Nice work Socket!
